The Ukrainian Gaming Regulatory Authority is reminding gambling establishments in the nation to guarantee their operations adhere to wartime curfew rules.
Following the Russian incursion into Ukraine, some gambling establishments have started to resume operations across Ukraine, with some operators shifting their ventures to western areas further from the primary conflict in the east.
While these venues are able to recommence operations, they must abide by temporary regulations enacted after Ukraine entered a state of martial law during wartime.
These regulations include regional curfews, which restrict citizens from being present on streets and in other public spaces, including entertainment and leisure facilities, during particular periods.
The Authority notes that this regulation also applies to gambling venues such as casinos and slot machine parlors, all of which must only permit patrons access during the periods allowed by curfew regulations.
Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February, numerous businesses in the gambling sector have pledged assistance and support to Ukraine.
The Parimatch Foundation has given more than €510,000 to assist the Ukrainian people, while the company itself has joined forces with the British charity WeHelpUkrainians to launch the “Ukraine Hospital Appeal” initiative, aiming to gather $1 million for those impacted by the conflict.
In March, Parimatch also terminated its Betring LLC franchise in Russia in response to the war. During the same month, it also concluded its partnership with the Russian esports team Team Spirit.
Pragmatic Play contributed £100,000 to the British Red Cross’s fundraising campaign for the Ukrainian crisis, while in March, “Gaming Industry Supports Ukraine” – a global gaming industry fundraising endeavor to aid the people of Ukraine – exceeded its initial £250,000 target.
