The gaming corporation, Boyd Gaming, disseminated holiday joy by contributing more than $180,000 to charitable organizations via their yearly “Wreaths and Trees of Hope” competition.
More than 160 non-profit groups, each backing a distinct purpose, took part by adorning wreaths and holiday trees. These festive displays were showcased at 22 Boyd Gaming venues across the nation. The community was encouraged to select their preferred charity online and at these sites, and the contest witnessed a remarkable response with over 100,000 votes submitted.
Among the participating sites were Delta Downs Racetrack, Hotel & Casino in Louisiana, Valley Forge Casino Resort in Pennsylvania, and the renowned Main Street Station in the heart of Las Vegas.
The “Wreaths and Trees of Hope” initiative, now in its 14th year running, surpassed several of its own milestones in 2021. This encompassed the overall prize funds granted, the quantity of participating Boyd Gaming venues and non-profits engaged, and the cumulative number of votes tallied.
The 2021 prize fund was an astounding $35,000 greater than in 2020 (when Boyd had already exceeded the prior record), and the event saw a rise of 4 participating venues and a significant addition of 25 non-profits compared to the preceding year.
From its debut in 2007, Boyd Gaming has transformed into a charitable powerhouse, contributing more than $100 million to non-profit organizations nationwide.
With its main office in the global center of gaming, Las Vegas, Nevada, Boyd Gaming is a significant force in the American casino sector, possessing 28 establishments across 10 states.
Similar to other casino enterprises, Boyd Gaming experienced a decline during the global health crisis, but its rebound in the past few months has been astonishing.
This comeback culminated in a substantial 29% surge in earnings during the third quarter of 2021.
