The UKs horse racing governing body is strengthening its dedication to fair play by bringing on a key new team member. Chris Watts, a veteran investigator with a notable background in law enforcement, has been named as the group’s inaugural Head of Integrity Protection.
Watts contributes over thirty years of expertise from his tenure as a Detective Superintendent with London’s Metropolitan Police, where he addressed significant and intricate criminal activity. Lately, he held the position of Anti-Corruption Director for the England and Wales Cricket Board, playing a crucial part in upholding the sport’s honesty. His background encompasses partnering with leading entities in the realm of athletics.
Watts, a lifelong equestrian enthusiast, conveyed his excitement about joining the BHA, noting that his recent efforts in sports ethics have provided him with valuable knowledge of the organization. He is eager to utilize his abilities for this new endeavor.
Further enhancing his impressive qualifications, Watts actively participates in the Sports Wagering Group and co-leads the Sports Ethics Forum.
